Blau Nacht
Blue night happens once a year. We're not quite sure what it's all about, but we do know the city puts a lot of effort into changing most of it's lights for one night. Other than the lights being blue they also allow all the museums to stay open until late at night with no admission fee (so maybe it's their cultural night?). It was definitely an interesting evening which began with Otto's lasagna and a football match. The rest of the evening was spent walking through galleries, drinking beer, and a bit of dancing. Would we do it again? maybe...

a light show they displayed on the castle. so, no the castle was painted for this one night.
Gardening Time
Spring had arrived and our window boxes were looking a little weak, so we took a Saturday and dedicated it to planting. It was so much fun (although Josh would say that I was reluctant at first). Both days were a bit rainy but we persevered and we're so happy we did. Plants can really brighten up any window. And when it comes to taking care of them I leave it all up to Josh (I never had much of a green thumb), he can literally bring plants back to life. Oh and at the end of one of our planting sessions our next door neighbor Guy (the French cook who has his restaurant outside our doorstep) offered us savory pastry treats. They were delicious! If that was our reward every time we'd be planting gurus!

New Direction
We hope you guys have enjoyed our updates so far...
There's still more to come. In the meantime we've decided to take a new direction with our blog. We'll still be posting photos of our latest adventures but in between all of that there will be photos/posts of things that make us stop and say, "hey that's super cool/neat/awesome".
I came across these photos of a Graduate's debut collection and it was absolutely amazing. Who new embroidery could look so good.

Flohmarkt
a compilation of things we've seen at the flea markets here in Germany. We have to say this is probably one of our favorite things about living here. We can't buy everything we see but a lot of it can be quite inspirational. There will probably be more pictures to come from future flea market trips.
