Texas Part 2

So this whole thing is a little out of order, but lifes like that sometimes.

The following day, Saturday, Julia and I woke up and decided to book a flight to San Antonio. The flight left that day, and we were headed to see her parents. A few hours later we were in the air.

I just want to say again, Texas was really cool?! I had no idea I'd like it that much!

We landed super late due to some tornadoes at our layover in Houston. I'll never be upset at being late cause the airline doesn't want to take off during a tornado. The following morning we went for our first of many amazing meals, at an old (and still operating) flour meal. It was excellent and the weather was beautiful. After breakfast we went for a drive through the historic King William district, which made me feel right at home. The Herr family loves to do this, something I despised as a kid (cause I just wanted to get home to play my Nintendo 64,) but now I love. Scary. The homes in this area were some of the coolest I ever saw. I really took these photos for my mother.

We then decided to take a walk around downtown, where Julia and I spotted this:

That photo is a KFC bucket, American flag, and a gun away from being a "Visit The Beautiful United States" poster.

Swung by the Alamo. Check.

Then we walked along the Riverwalk, with a break for margaritas of course. The Riverwalk was very cool. It runs through San Antonio and as I understand it has been like this for ages. Restaurants, shops, and bars line both sides and it was the perfect day and the perfect place for a stroll.

Shes as sweet as she is beautiful.

Mr. Ramirez took a little break

Julia and her parents. Such a great family. Julia and I are very lucky.

That night I requested a legit Tex Mex dinner, and did they deliver! Julias mom said she was going to throw water on my food so I'd stop eating. Ill tell you that she would have needed something more deterring that water, haha. Julias friends Becca and Mike joined us and it was great meeting them.

The next day we went to Austin, and met up with some of Julias old friends. A lot of great shops and another very cool city. Sadly this is the only photo I took.

That night Mrs. Ramirez cooked us up a wonderful dinner, it was about this time when I realized that my clothes had started shrinking. Well say it was from the heat.

The next morning we accompanied Mrs. Ramirez to her weekly line dancing class. Which may have been the most fun Ive had in a long time, I hadnt laughed that hard in so long. This dance crew of seniors were kicking Julias and my butt. We couldnt keep up. Unfortunately my camera had died so I dont have any pics, but I stole Julias and snapped some with hers. Youll have to beg her to put them up, theyre worth it.

All in all I say it was a very successful trip, and we had such a great time. I am so grateful we got to make it down there before we shipped off to Europe!

Thank you again Mr. & Mrs. Ramirez! I cant wait to come back!
