J+J Farewell to Boston Party

Our very good friend Suegene had a gathering for Julia and I on my last night in Boston. It was a nice intimate event that lasted into the morning hours and turned into a full on house party. There was bonfires, beers, smores, excellent food, and a lot of laughs.

Suegene has been there for both Julia and I many times. We are both so lucky to have her in our life, and look forward to her visiting us here in Germany. Ill miss her a lot. She was my advisor and pep talker when I first started chasing Julia. And dont let Julia tell you that I didnt chase her! Suegene was the one who kept pushing me and telling me she wasnt totally out of my league (something I still dont agree with.)

Suegene is funny and talented, but her most admirable quality is her maternal instinct to take care of others. Now if someone would just take care of her! She has been one of my closest friends in Boston, but it wasnt sad saying goodbye cause I know Ill see her soon!

Thank you so much for the party bud, it was perfect!

Our host, and amazing friend, Suegene.

Mark, Alice, and Tasha. Marks headed off on his own adventure soon, to Vietnam, good luck buddy. Alice used to work here in Nuremberg at Originals, and has been so helpful and encouraging in this process. Shes the future of Reebok. Tasha has some of the best energy on the team, and is just a pleasure to be around.

These pictures dont do it justice, but if you know Suegene you know that shes an amazing cook. Amazing. Ive been very lucky to have a few of her gourmet dishes. She had a HUGE spread set up for everyone, with some really unique combinations!

Rebecca and Mark. Rebeccas one of the best people to take photos of, and one of the best people to hang out with. She always had us laughing. I can not wait to meet the guy she marries, I'm willing to bet it will be reality television show waiting to happen.

Vin, myself, and Ting. These two out drank everyone.

Christine, Lauren, Tracy, and Kirtley.

I kept trying to get a photo of Eugena, and the picture-taker herself wasnt having it. I guess when youre Batmans! photographer you get sick of cameras. Instead just read her blog.

Rachel is a seriously talented designer, who made me laugh in meetings when I shouldnt, and at the end of the night just disappeared without saying bye? You weirdo. Elodie is part of the French breakfast crew and super talented footwear designer. She better give me a call when she comes to Nuremberg to visit her boyfriend.

Vinnie wasnt waisting time on those smores. Im pretty sure it was illegal to have a bonfire in city zoning.

Tracy is one of Julias best friends, and roommate. Shes works at Reebok too and is the instrumental hand in getting Julia and I together. And Ill never stop thanking her for that!

I was bummed the next day when I realized that I missed a picture of Tracy Luk! How did this happen?! Sorry Tracy! Instead Ill put this picture up of her fiance today, husband tomorrow (literally.) CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!

Nate works for Bose as a designer, and Tracy works at Reebok as a Womens footwear designer. I dont know if shes ever designed something I didnt like. I actually saw someone wearing the top downs at Adidas this week. They make a great couple.

We were lucky enough to have met these two and spend some quality time with them in our last months at Boston. Sometimes you meet people and hit it off right away. Julia met Becky at Anthropologie, which just seems to be an endless source of great people. And congratulations to Edward and his big promotion at Vidal Sassoon, youre hard work paid off!

Vinnie and Mikael.

This is Elizabeth, Mark, and Mikael. I could write a whole post about my admiration of this family. Such good people. I was very fortunate to work with Elizabeth closely over the past few years. Shes an incredibly talented apparel designer. She is a pusher, and pushes people to push themselves, and because of this has positively impacted those around her. Weve learned a lot from each other, and Im going to miss her. Her husband Mark is a very lucky and deserving man. Its really no wonder that these two incredibly cool people have the coolest kid ever. Everyone who has met him is awed with just how awesome he is.

Mikael is intimidatingly cool, and hes 6! Hes always hanging out and break dancing at our gatherings, and I was so happy the first time he remembered my name, and sad the day he stopped going to Reebok daycare.

When I get my scanner Ill post the drawing he did for me.

At one point in the night Lauren Powell leaned over to me and said "Whats this kid going to do at 10?! Hes already outgrown everyone."

One of my favorite photos of the night.

The fact that Connie came out is a huge deal. She carries pork buns around in her pocket, true story. Im sure thats the legacy she wants to leave.

Vin, Claudia, and Ting. Ting told me not to write sentimental things, so Ill just talk about how when he drinks he turns purple. Its a great barometer to know if hes okay to drive or not.

James and Laura are an amazing couple, and I look forward to getting their wedding invitation in the mail sometime, hint hint. Christine and her husband, Freddy Prince Jr.

Suegene, Lauren, and Julia. Im going to miss Lauren, aka Powell, aka LP. I cant wait to see all the amazing things she does, and I have no doubt she will. Working on On The Move with her was easy and fruitful. Im proud of the product we created, and the friendship weve made.

Becky

What can I say about these two? They drove back home to Cape Cod at 2am, well Claudia did at least. Thats just them, very committed, genuine, and caring friends. Julia and I had great times with them down on the Cape. Bike rides, lobsters, boats, islands, rock band, and cookouts. I cant wait to come do it again! Both very talented and funny, it was always a pleasure. Thank you both again for the amazing gifts! Ill be prepared for emergencies, and for cold nights!

Spencer is another all around great guy. Such great positive enthusiasm, I hope he never looses it.

Thanks again everyone! We had an incredible time, it couldnt have been better!
