Away We Go: Prague!

This weeks theme: ...AND AWAY WE GO!

Making up for lost time. So this week were hoping to post all of the travels from the past few months that we havent gotten around to sharing with everyone. The plan is to feature one trip per day, which includes Prague, Berlin, L.A., East Coast/Lancaster, Bamberg, and our hiking trip.

Back in May we had a long weekend, and took drive to Prague (2 hrs away) to celebrate Julia's Birthday and our Anniversary.

And away we go!

(And remember, you can click on any of these pictures to enlarge)

Josh in front for Old Town Hall's famous Astronomical clock.

Do we like Mussels? Yes.

And for good reason, these did not disappoint!

Many great treats at the local farmers market.

One of Pragues most famous landmarks, The Charles Bridge. As you can see, it was the height of tourist season.

We think this is one of our favorite pictures of not only this trip but of all time. We really admire her.... boldness and confidence in letting it all hang out. Shes got stories.

Near the castle over looking the endless red roofs of the city.

St. Vitus Cathedral. To the left you can see the beautiful weather we had all day, on the right, the less than beautiful weather coming our way.

Mucha's stain glass window, better in person, and very impressive.

Break time. This cafe hung on a cliff over looking all of Prague, and we just happened to stumble upon in while taking a back alley.

This was our favorite vintage/antique shop in Prague. So much so that we visited twice! I think after spending enough money there we got VIP status and the owner gave us the key to a lovers tower attached to the building. Which when we climbed up the tight staircase were surprised to to find a wonderful view out over the rooftops.

Jesus in a tree! Peek-a-boo Jesus. Something tells me Jesus would like you to trim that tree.

Swing in the Royal Gardens.

We just aimlessly walked around Prague, and often times came across unexpected treasures. Like this one. An Avian Predator Conservatory. Basically a garden with Falcons and Owls. You could hold one for a small fee, but the lady told us that these falcons could crush a human skull like we can crush an egg in our hands, which lead me to question the safety restrictions of this particular venture, and not hold the falcon. Instead we hung with the owls.

Relaxing in the park.

Josh with his birthday present (Pierre the Tucan Pitcher), which Julia bought him at the cool antique store from before.

On our last morning we had a little picnic in the park with some treats we spotted at a local bakery. After this we visited a flea market, Josh laid in some dog poo, and by late afternoon we headed back home to Nurnberg.
